WPL 2024 Auction: Kangaroos dominate the auction, Sutherland sold for Rs 2 crore

 The first season of the Women's Premier League was played in 2023 and was highly successful. Many star players from around the world got a chance in the auction and some were successful in being selected by five franchises. Now the second auction of this edition is taking place in Mumbai today. All five franchises will enter the game with the remaining amount and are trying to complete their team.

WPL 2024 Auction Live:Gujarat bought Meghna Singh

 India's Meghna Singh was bought by Gujarat Giants for her base price of Rs 30 lakh. At the same time, Chamari Atapattu of Sri Lanka did not find any buyer.

WPL 2024 Auction:Annabel Sutherland sold for two crores

Australian all-rounder Annabel Sutherland, whose base price is Rs 40 lakh, was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 2 crore. There was a competition between Delhi and Mumbai to buy Sutherland, but Delhi won.

 WPL 2024 Auction:Dottin and Nadine Unsold

West Indies all-rounder Deandra Dottin and South Africa's Nadine de Klerk remained unsold.

 WPL 2024 Auction: Devika Vaidya

Indian all-rounder Devika Vaidya, whose base price was Rs 30 lakh, was not bought by any future team.

   WPL 2024 Auction:RCB bought Georgia Wareham

 The base price of Australian all-rounder Georgia Wareham was Rs 40 lakh.  He was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 40 lakh.

England batsman Denny Wyatt was bought by UP Warriors for his base price of Rs 30 lakh.

The first player to enter the 2024 auction is Phoebe Litchfield, who is an Australian batsman.  His base price was Rs 30 lakh and he was bought by Gujarat Giants for Rs 1 crore.

This time 165 players will enter the auction. These include 104 Indian and 61 foreign players. The total purse of the five teams is Rs 17.65 crore. A total of 30 slots are vacant, out of which nine slots are for foreign players. There can be 15 to 18 players in a team. There can be six foreign players in a team.

           Battle between five teams

This time too, five teams will participate in this tournament and will try to improve their balance by buying necessary players in the mini auction.  However, the key players of each team will remain the same as they were in the last season.
