The Dow Jones rose 0.23% and the Nasdaq rose 1% on jobs data
The S&P 500 rose Thursday, attempting to break a three-day losing streak as traders await Friday's all-important jobs report.
The broader market index rose 0.8%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 88 points, or 0.23%. The Nasdaq Composite advanced 1.4% as technology stocks outperformed.
Shares of Google-parent Alphabet rose 6.5% as traders applauded the launch of the company's Gemini artificial intelligence model. Nvidia and AMD also rose more than 1% and 8%, respectively.
The move comes after the Dow and S&P 500 on Wednesday recorded their first three-day losing streak since October.
